Oceans Band to release CD and song downloads for charity and hopes to reach a wider audience
Musicians' touch the hearts of people in ways that no other people can. The power of music can heal wounds, uplift us from sorrow, and even move our aching bodies to dance. With the right motivation, musicians can use their talents to make a difference in this world. Twin Cities rock band Oceans is aiming not only to let their songs be heard also want to play an active role in helping the less fortunate citizens of the world.
Leo's native homeland the Philippines was recently hit by two super-typhoons (tropical hurricanes) that devastated many provinces and left many dead, missing, and homeless.
The band has decided to dedicate their latest effort, the CD "Oceans: Live Sessions," to raising funds for the Filipino flood victims. The members plan to do this by sellng the CD directly or through iTunes and giving the profits to a relief organization.
The band is just happy to have its music heard. Although there is no monetary gain for them in this endeavor, they are aiming to gain a wider audience who can appreciate their music while embracing a benevolent cause.
